Job Description
Stickyeyes, the online marketing agency, is a well-established, proactive and fast growing business based in Leeds.
Dealing with many Blue Chip and prestigious Brands, Stickyeyes is well regarded as one of the leading online marketing agencies with best of breed strategies in search marketing. To facilitate future growth we are now seeking a Head of Technical R & D reporting to the Operations Director.
The Head of Technical R & D will lead the team of developers through a rapid growth phase, scoping out both internal projects such as SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and social media tool development and managing the timely delivery of client projects, such as Drupal CMS implementation and Facebook application development, within scope and budget.
Previous commercial project management is essential. Candidates should be open to new ideas and techniques, have a true passion for agile web development and posses excellent leadership skills
A Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Strong web development experience using Javascript, PHP, Cake, MySQL
- An eye for usability and clean UI deployment.
- Experience with Ajax, MVC Frameworks, Drupal or similar CMS and the Facebook API essential
- Experience writing grammars and parsers, generating and manipulating XML, JSON, etc a plus
- Experience designing and building APIs, Rest services, Web Services or tools very desirable
- Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm for agile development necessary
Key Responsibilities of the role include
- Day to day management of the development team
- Project management of internal and external projects
- Hands on web development and project work
- Recruiting developer resource and scaling the development team as required
- Mentoring team members and developing a culture of excellence and ownership
- Acting as the single point of contact for the client and as a liaison between internal teams
- Scoping client projects and ensuring timely delivery of both client projects and internal projects
