Speaker Biographies
Gary Beal
Online Marketing
Gary Beal is originally from the United States. Now living in the UK, he travels to conferences all over the world. Gary has “crossed the pond” to close the gap between the US and Europe in online marketing. Working as a freelance SEM Consultant from 1996 until 2006, Gary spoke and trained many US-based Search Managers at top agencies, companies and conferences. Most recently he spoke at the 2007 SES conference in London and Gaming and Affiliate Conferences around Europe.
Gary is the Director of Search at Stickyeyes. with a client portfolio that include major corporations such as 02, Jet2, Littlewoods Bingo, Mecca Bingo, First Direct, MTV, Lloyds TSB, Jaguar and many others.
Gary attended Ohio State University in the US and hold a Masters Degree in Biometrics and Mathematical Statistics. He has been instrumental in the development of many Search Engine Optimisation and Pay Per Click tools as an analyst and consultant.
He is well known in most of the top SEO/SEM/PPC forums (a.k.a. GaryTheScubaGuy), a staff writer for DevShed and SEOChat, and a Moderator at SEO Chat. He has worked for many years in lead aggregation for highly competitive industries such as Online Gaming, Banking and Finance, Insurance, Travel and Investments regularly speaks about doing business in these industries, as well as successfully doing business on the internet.
Stephen Lee
PPC, SEO, Reporting, Team Management, Operations Manager
Stephen’s interest in the internet and related technologies led him to study for a degree in Information Communication Management and he has been applying this knowledge to Stickyeyes client base for over 2 years.
Stephen is a key architect of the company’s management and reporting processes and this depth of understanding allows him and his team to create bespoke reports based on companies individual KPIs.
He is campaign manager of many of our key accounts including O2, Bravissimo and Littlewoods Casino and has worked on a wide variety of PPC, SEO and Email Marketing campaigns.
Torstein Langeland
PPC, SEO, Reporting, Team Management
Torstein Langeland comes from Norway and has been Key Account Strategist at Stickyeyes in Leeds, UK since 2005, working with major players in the UK gaming and finance markets, such as Rank Interactive (Mecca Bingo & BlueSQ), Littlewoods Gaming, HiFX and Gregory Pennington. Through his time in Stickyeyes he has been instrumental in growing what started initially as small accounts into multi-million pound key accounts.
Torstein holds an MA International Business from Leeds Business School in addition to a BSc Marketing Management from Norway’s leading business school, the Norwegian School of Management (BI). Being a creative strategic thinker, Torstein has developed several analytical tools giving Stickyeyes a competitive edge in the search market.
With his background in business, Torstein has a unique skill of applying search marketing to the overall business needs and goals and see how search fits in with the big picture of each individual company. Also, being a natural speaker, he can communicate in a clear and understandable way.
Jonny Artis
SEO Specialist, Campaign Manager, Webmaster
Jonny Artis is a first class SEO specialist having spent several years in the field, creating, managing and implementing advanced search engine optimisation campaigns for a number of internationally renowned, Blue Chip companies including Jet2.com, O2 and Mecca Bingo. With experience not only working with some of the UK’s largest organisations, Jonny has also spent time working on smaller, previously struggling campaigns and transforming them into highly successful online ventures, performing brilliantly even in some of the web’s most competitive markets.
Jonny is currently a Campaign Manager here at Stickyeyes. Since his arrival in the summer of 2006, many of the campaigns under his stewardship have seen almost exponential increases in key areas including organic search exposure, traffic figures and sales.
His talents are not restricted purely to search; Artis has been nominated for awards for his design skills and has a comprehensive understanding of the key factors of successful web sites; including information architecture, accessibility, usability and conversion. This combined with his rare aptitude for organic search marketing has thrust him to the very forefront of the online marketing industry.
