Hello and welcome to Digital Minute. This week we look at why your site might be about to lose its mobile friendly tag.

Despite only introducing the mobile friendly tag earlier in the year Google is already bringing in some changes.

From the 1st of November sites that promote their native app through large banners or overlays that cover page content will be stripped of the all-important mobile friendly tag.

And with Google confirming that since April mobile friendliness is part of it’s search algorithm losing the tag could have a massively detrimental impact on search ranking and overall site traffic.

As ever the search giant is claiming the changes are to improve the quality of the search experience and has already updated it’s online mobiles friendliness tool to help webmasters check if their sites will be penalized by the new change in policy.

To make sure you’re not impacted you can find out more detail as well as some easy to implement code to place on your site over on our blog.
