Hello and welcome to Digital Minute. This week, we’re looking at how Google is changing the recruitment business.

Google could change the way in which you recruit your next employee – or find your next job – following the launch of its new ‘Google for Jobs’ service.

Google for Jobs launched last week, promising to use artificial intelligence to match candidates with the perfect role and make life easier for both candidates and recruiters.

Users on the lookout for their next opportunity can either generically search for “jobs near me”, or search for specific job titles “near me” - and Google will present what it thinks are the most relevant results.

The service will also de-duplicate listings for the same job that might be posted across numerous sites, such as Monster, LinkedIn and the company’s own site, offering a simpler user interface.

For brands and recruiters, that has the potential to reduce their recruitment costs quite significantly.

Brands can see their job roles appear in this new service with just a relatively simple code fix – and that could mean that they no longer need to pay multiple recruitment advertising platforms.

Our SEO specialists have explained more about this over on the blog.
