Hello, and welcome to Digital Minute, where we’re looking at a setback for Amazon and big news for digital advertising.

Digital advertising is set to account for half of all advertising spend in the UK in 2015, according to new research.

Strategy Analytics has claimed that half of all advertising spend will be on creating content specifically for digital. That represents an increase of 9 and a half per cent on digital ad spend.

The UK is the first country to reach the landmark “50 per cent” figure and we’ve explored some of the reasons why over on our blog.

Amazon’s hopes of delivering packages by unmanned drone have suffered a setback, after the FAA drafted rules for the use of drones in US airspace.

Under the new rules, pilots would have to maintain a line of sight with a drone at all times, seemingly ending the prospect of Amazon Air taking off in the near future.

Nevertheless, Amazon, which this week launched a one-hour delivery service in Manhattan, says that it remains committed to the project.
