Hello and welcome to Digital Minute. This week we are looking at Twitter’s newest ad feature ‘First View’.

After a successful roll-out in the US, Twitter has announced that it will now be making First View available in Europe, as it looks to increase its appeal to brand advertisers.

First View allows brands to pay for exclusive ownership of the top ad slot on Twitter for a whole 24-hour period, therefore reaching a much wider audience.

Twitter is promoting the development as “an engaging and highly visible way to share your brand story with compelling video creative”. First view has been designed to remove the reliance brands once had on ‘promoted’ tweets and moments to amplify audience reach. This latest tool provides brands with another means to increase their visibility and reach on Twitter, although it remains to be seen how users in Europe will respond to such a prominent brand placement.

We’ve looked at the change in more detail over on our blog. And whilst you’re there, make sure that you get your hands on our latest guide – The Content Distribution Playbook.

Thanks for watching, I’m Mike McDougall and that was your Digital Minute.
