Hello and welcome to Digital Minute, this week we’re taking a look at the rise of ‘Stories’, the future of the ‘newsfeed’.
A year ago, if I uttered the phrase, “check out my story”, then most of you would know what I was talking about - Snapchat right?
Jump forward to April 2017 and the same phrase could now point you in the direction of either Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or Messenger.
Now the majority of brands may have previously ignored stories, and Snapchat for that matter, but I’m here to tell you - your customers aren’t.
But what is a Story? Essentially, it is a chronological presentation of a combination of pictures, video and text.
Some say, “The forefront of reactive marketing”.
Ok, so maybe it isn’t quite at the forefront just yet, but it should certainly be an area you start experimenting in soon, if not already.
However, don’t neglect your existing channels, remember stories only have a lifespan of 24 hours, your timeline is permanent.
